Downtown Tempe Authority

The Downtown Tempe Authority is a private, non-profit Enhanced Municipal Services District that works in partnership with the City of Tempe to increase the value of the business district between Tempe Town Lake, College Avenue, University and Farmer.

First established in 1993 by local businesses, property owners, and the City of Tempe, the original purpose of the organization was to provide enhanced management and promotional services to members located along Historic Mill Avenue. However, its geographic mandate has significantly increased over time; and the organization today acts as a vehicle to positively impact and drive the future of the Downtown Tempe urban center, including stewardship of existing assets and resources.

Seidman was commissioned in fall 2015 to demonstrate the economic impact of Downtown Tempe Authority businesses for the City of Tempe, Maricopa County, and the State of Arizona as a whole.
