EDF
The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) is one of the world’s largest non-profit environmental organizations, with more than one million members and a staff of 500 scientists, economists, policy experts, and other professionals around the world.
Headquartered in New York City with offices nationwide, EDF is known for its work on issues such as global warming, ecosystem restoration, oceans, and human health. EDF’s mission is to preserve the natural systems on which all life depends, and it advocates using sound science, economics, and law to find environmental solutions that work.
In 2014-2015, EDF commissioned Seidman to evaluate the effectiveness of four types of demand-side financing mechanisms to raise revenue for future water infrastructure investments in the State of Arizona. The study additionally examined the effectiveness of water utility rate increases as a potential means of reducing water demand, to help address future projected supply-demand imbalances.
