City of Scottsdale Stadium
Scottsdale Stadium is a baseball field and events venue owned by the City of Scottsdale. First built in 1992, it is the Spring Training home of the San Francisco Giants, the Scottsdale Scorpions and the Arizona League Giants.
In April 2019, work started on a major renovation of the Stadium – the first significant investment since 2005/06.
Phase 1 will be completed by February 2020. Budgeted at $50.1 million, it includes a new clubhouse and 10,000 square foot event center, new bleachers, wider concourses, the expansion of the Charros Lodge and existing concessions platform, enhanced access to the second level suite/press area, and a new main entrance. The City of Scottsdale will finance up to $35 million of this phase’s renovations through hotel taxes. The San Francisco Giants will contribute $15.1 million over 20 years.
A second phase, estimated to cost $14 million, is planned for April 2020 – February 2021.
Seidman has been commissioned to estimate the impact of the renovation of Scottsdale Stadium on the City of Scottsdale economy.
